This policy explains what personal data navsense collects through this website, why, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It's written to be read by a person, not a lawyer — if anything below is unclear, contact us using the details at the bottom.

Who we are

navsense is a route-planning tool for field service teams, provided by Stock Sense Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14105652, registered office at 28 Spey Glen Drive, Harwell, Didcot, England, OX11 6LX. navsense is a trading name of stocksense.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

What we collect

When you use this website, we may collect:

• Contact details you give us directly: your email address and phone number, submitted through the "Try It Free" form.
• Your calculator inputs, if you use the savings calculator: the numbers you enter (team size, mileage, hours, etc.) and the estimate it produces. These are only stored against your record if you go on to submit the contact form.
• How you found the site: the page that referred you, and any campaign parameters in the link you followed (e.g. utm_source), plus your browser's user-agent string.
• Basic analytics via Google Analytics (GA4) — standard site-usage data (pages viewed, general location, device type) via cookies. See "Cookies" below.

We do not collect payment details on this site.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

• To contact you about navsense (email or phone) — lawful basis: your consent, given explicitly via the checkbox on the contact form. You can withdraw this at any time (see "Your rights").
• To run the live route-optimizer demo you request — lawful basis: performance of a request you've made (you asked us to calculate a route).
• To understand and improve the site (analytics) — lawful basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, balanced against your privacy (no analytics data is used to identify you personally).
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (e.g. rate-limiting the free demo) — lawful basis: legitimate interest.

We never use your data for anything beyond what's described here, and we never sell it.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers ("processors") to run this site. They only process your data on our instructions, under contract, and never use it for their own purposes:

• Google Cloud / Firebase — hosting, database (Firestore), and the serverless functions that power the live demo. Data is stored in Google Cloud's europe-west1 (Belgium, EU) region.
• Resend — sends us an internal email notification when a new lead comes in. Your email/phone pass through their systems solely to deliver that notification.
• Google Analytics — site-usage analytics (see "Cookies").

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4), which sets cookies to distinguish unique visitors and measure site usage. No cookies are used for third-party advertising. You can block these via your browser settings without affecting how the site works.

How long we keep it

We keep contact and calculator data for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a customer, for the duration of that relationship — typically no longer than 24 months from last contact if we don't hear back from you. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it (access).
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data (rectification).
• Ask us to delete your data (erasure).
• Ask us to restrict how we use it (restriction).
• Object to us using it, including withdrawing marketing consent at any time (objection).
• Ask for a portable copy of data you gave us (portability).

You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), if you think we've mishandled your data. Our ICO registration reference is ZB584106.

Children

This site and navsense are intended for business use and are not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above. We won't reduce your rights without telling you.
